Current Projects

I currently work on the FUSION project (Future Social Interaction in XR), led by Dr Julie Williamson at the University of Glasgow's School of Computing Science. Funded by a €2 million ERC grant, FUSION aims to close the gap between physical and virtual realities by studying how people communicate and interact within immersive digital environments. Our team conducts experiments at the ARC-XR Labs, using XR headsets, smart glasses, and environmental sensors to capture complex social signals—such as proxemics, gaze, and vocal behaviour—during both physical and virtual group interactions. My research focuses on analysing how these signals shape collaboration and presence across realities. By modelling these behaviours, we aim to support the development of hybrid interaction systems that feel intuitive, seamless, and socially authentic.
